Abstract:

The Banking Union, a key EU initiative, has strengthened the EU's control over the banking sector by establishing the ECB as the main supervisor, introducing a banking resolution regime, and pooling financial resources. Initially for euro area members, it now includes non-euro are Member States, making it a dynamic project. The edited volume whose conclusions I will present examines the Banking Union’s legal aspects through a multi-dimensional approach, covering horizontal, substantive, institutional, cooperative, review, and external dimensions. This comprehensive analysis aims to provide a deeper understanding of the Banking Union's development, its legal challenges, and its evolving nature.
